ME, MYSELF AND I

At the age of 2, I was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and given an insane amount of steroids and Methotrexate (which made me physically sick 4/7 days a week! Blugh!). 16 years, and a Swan Neck correctional surgery later, as a present to myself, I took myself off Metho and started trialing a variety of fun biologics, NSAIDs and, well, anything else they cared to pump into me! Tocilizumab appeared to be a winner and kept me stable for the following 7 years. Sadly, at the age of 25, it gave up on me and my body began to self destruct (imagine Trump hovering over a giant nuclear launch button and laughing maniacally!). I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and IBS and started testing out several new drugs (none of which seem to do much...). After a year of relying on Pred and Codein, I finally started to stabalise (slightly) on Sarilumab. However, my hips were officially dead, so we made the decision to get them replaced! And here I am, 1 bionic hip later (another 1 waiting to be done in a few months) and waiting for my super powers to kick in!

Aside from the medical nonsense, I am also a primary teacher, a cat-mummy, a tattoo addict and a rock climber!

Do I 'look sick'?
